As highlighted in previous lessons, digital literacy is required in all facets of the real-world. Regardless of whether you want to apply digital literacy skills at work, home, or school, or use them to optimize health and wealth, technology can be a game changer for reaching your full potential.
In the world of work, jobs are changing at a rapid pace. From construction and healthcare, to warehouse operations and managerial support,
shifting demand is requiring new skills and roles. For example, companies and organizations are increasingly depending on technology to
create, use, and interpret digital information. Besides being digitally literate, humans are needed to synthesize complex data and make decisions based on computer-generated
output, often creating new ways of doing things.
Note: According to the Oxford-based non-profit 80,000 Hours, “career capital refers to the skills, connections, credentials, and financial resources that can help you have a bigger impact in the future.”
